The Krasnodar Region and the Netherlands plan to create the first in Russia joint scientific center in the field of agriculture

The Vice-Governor, Andrey Korobka, discussed the prospects of cooperation with the Ambassador of the Kingdom to Russia, Hilles Beskhor Plukh.

Andrey Korobka greeted the delegation on behalf of the Governor, Veniamin Kondratyev, noting the great prospects for the joint development of science and high technologies in the agricultural sector.

– Kuban is one of the strongest regions of the Russian Federation in the development of agricultural science and the work with scientists in the production of agricultural products. We are interested in the experience of the Netherlands as one of the most advanced world leaders in the development of agricultural technologies. The creation of a joint research center for agriculture will be useful for the exchange of experience and the development of priority areas, such as gardening, livestock business, processing, and seed production, – Andrey Korobka said.

Hilles Beskhor Plukh emphasized that technologies are given special attention in the Netherlands. According to him, there is a so-called "golden triangle" in the country – close interaction between business, government, and science has been established in the production process.

– We were interested in the proposal to create a joint scientific center for agricultural science in Kuban; it will be really useful to all parties, – the Ambassador said.

A working group will be created to study this issue.

The Minister of Agriculture of the Region, Fyodor Dereka, and the Advisor on Agriculture of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Russian Federation, Henk Stikhter, also took part in the meeting.
