Abrau-Durso won the World Championship among sparkling wines

Abrau-Durso, a Russian Wine House, won the Rising Star nomination at the Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships 2021. This is stated on the website of the competition.

According to the Press Service of the Company, Abrau-Durso received the title of World Champion Tony Jordan Rising Star named after Tony Jordan, one of the most famous producers of sparkling wines from Australia. Abrau-Durso was also included in the short-list of the competition together with the world's largest winemakers.

The manufacturer became the only Russian company to take part in the competition. Earlier, Abrau-Durso also received gold and silver medals in the competition for its sparkling wines.

The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships (CSWWC) is the only specialized international competition for champagne and sparkling wines. It was established in the UK in 2014 by the well-known wine journalist and expert, Tom Stevenson. The main objectives of the competition are «to encourage and stimulate producers from all over the world to improve the quality of their sparkling wines, as well as to acquaint consumers with their best samples». In total, in 2021, in the process of competitive tastings, more than 1,000 samples of wines from 19 countries were evaluated.
